Marianna Mott Newirth

Founder / Executive Producer & Acting General Manager

 A New York City librettist, playwright and creative producer, Marianna hails from an eclectic background of theatre and bookbinding. Her numerous short operatic works, performed from Toronto to Munich, include: Blue Hum, Where is the Stillness, Transmission II, Transportation Transformation and Trudi’s World. She premiered her first full-length opera touch with composer/librettist Carla Lucero, commissioned by Opera Birmingham for a 2024 premiere on the extraordinary adult life of Helen Keller. Later that year, Marianna premiered a one-act opera Mechanisms with composer J.E. Hernandez commissioned by Opera Theatre of St Louis; an operatic study on a neurodivergent girl in fifth grade math class. Her straight theatrical pieces include: Bachelor’s Agreement, Correspondence Theory and most notably, Interabled, workshopped at the Queen’s Theatre for All Fest.

She’s curated white papers for the International Association for Music & Medicine as well as HowlRound Theatre Commons; served as President of the New York Opera Alliance (NYOA) for three years; and worked as Executive Director for dell’Arte Opera Ensemble (dAOE) where she produced the 2021 Opera in the Park series in a variety of Manhattan’s public parks.
